Mt. Rinjani forms the second highest volcanic peak in Indonesia, part of celebrated “Ring of Fire”. The dramatic landscape has been created over millions of year of cone - building, violent explosions, and erosion. Forested slopes rising directly from the sea create their own weather pattern and act as water - collectors for the hole of Lombok. Mount Rinjani is an active volcano in Indonesia on the island of Lombok. It rises to 3,726 m (12,224 ft), making it the third-largest volcano in Indonesia.

You will have a fully organized mountain trekking, which combines adventure with leisure, ecotourism, and safety. You will take a rest and enjoy the beautiful panorama of segara anak lake (crater), hotsprings, and beautiful panorama along the route, through thick tropical forests rich in flora, bird life and a variety of butterflies. You might see orchid and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung (Presbitys comata).  Enjoy proud feelings of satisfaction and the amazing sunrise views across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung and Sumbawa, after enjoying the spectacular views down to the campsite.

Trekking in Carstensz Pyramid

Duration :     16D/16N
Grade :         Difficult
Start/End :    Jakarta

Carstensz Glacier and surrounds (by Kal Muller)

At long last, Indonesia has reopened Carstensz Pyramid to the international climbing community. Carstensz (known locally as Puncak Jaya or "Victory Peak") is located in Irian Jaya on the island of New Guinea. Towering above the dense tropical vegetation of the western central highlands, Carstensz is the highest mountain on the Oceanic continent at 16,023 feet.

The Carstensz climb is mostly on rock of only moderate difficulty. Team members need basic rock climbing skills and experience with rappel and Jumar techniques. Most of the route can be safely free-climbed, but we'll fix ropes on a few of the more technical pitches. You'll definitely need a healthy sense of adventure, though, as Carstensz is still quite isolated from tourists and very untouched by Western influence.
